They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. (Ps 112:7)

Does bad news paralyse you? Does it stop you dead in your tracks? Does it strike fear and anxiety deep down within you?

When Jesus was born, the host of heavenly angels sang “… peace on earth to those with whom God is well pleased” (Luke 2:14). So if there's supposed to be a peace for us, why do we still face fear? Why do we still suffer turmoil and apprehension about our futures?

When I was writing this, our 3 year old son was sleeping soundly (finally!). He wasn't losing sleep about his future because all he's known is to trust his daddy. He knows that dad's promises are dependable and secure. Your Father in Heaven has laid out some great promises for your life… promises that you can depend on! Promises that will trump anything fear tries to throw in your face. Isaiah 55:11 says “…My word goes forth… and never returns void”.

God's promises are like a hook on a fishing line that never returns empty.

His promise is that you have a future and hope.

His promise is that you can do all things through Him, who gives you strength.

His word is that you are more than a conqueror.

You can trust that no weapon formed against you will prosper.

That He will make all things work together for good, for those that love Him.

When bad news comes, declare His promises over it. Confidently trust that what He says, will come to pass in your life. When fear rants and raves in your face, just wave the promises of God at it. Stand firm against it.

Get a picture in your mind of heavens armies standing behind you, ready to defend what God has already promised over your life. Trust, with confidence, that God will care for you. God will bless and protect you this day… it's a promise… His promise! Much love…
