Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame. (Isaiah 50:7 NLT)

I love this concept – setting your face like stone – determination to do His will. There is absolutely no doubt that making a stand for God puts you straight into the battle – it paints a spiritual target on your back. Ever been in a crowd of people sitting but one person stands? It's very obvious and can make those sitting, feel uncomfortable! But after a few pop up, it gets easier and easier for the rest. It's also very infectious to be around when you're with people who've made this decision. That's you and I when we stand for God. When we stand for His ways. The enemy says “target acquired” and begins to hurl all he can at getting you to sit back down. He wants you to shrink back and not take on territory he has frightened people out of. Notice that he always uses fear to shrink people down. That's why we need to “set our faces like flint”. I read, somewhere the other day, “Danger is a reality but fear is a choice”. God promises to be our protection so the only reason we need to fear is if we don't believe it. I know many of you are facing many wide and varied obstacles and oppositions. Today, choose to set your face like flint. Trust God that where you are, is definitely not where things will end…that thinking is instigated by the enemy to keep you shrinking back. To keep you living in fear. Stand up and be counted. Be determined to do His will! Love you guys…you're best is always ahead!
