Last night I stayed up till 1.30am wrapping my kids gifts with paper that my 3yr old son painted, while watching Christmas movies – it was pure joy… But in just a few short days, the Christmas season will be over and the ‘New Year' season will be begin. Seasons come and go, we transition through them all the time just like the seasons of ‘Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring'. We have no control over them – there is an appointed time for each one. We can however control the way we move through them. We are in ‘little kid' season – we have a 9 month old and a 3yr old – life is crazy messy beautiful fun, and we don't get a lot of sleep… But it's a season. I could wish away the days until they sleepin and clean their rooms… I could live frustrated and stressed with all the challenges it presents… But then I miss the beauty and the gold in the right now… The way my daughter loves discovering new things, the sensational stories my son creates… bounties of this season. Then one day, this season will be over and we'll move into the next – the lessons, gold, beauty and even the mistakes, the pain and wisdom learnt from this season carrying us across the threshold. Ecc 1 says “TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven”. Don't wish away the days, allow this season to complete its work in your heart. Roll with it, move through them with the grace and faith bestowed upon you by Jesus himself… The seasons of life will produce great richness and wisdom within your heart… Much love in THIS season… xo
