“…Also He has put eternity in their hearts…” – Ecc 3:11
I can remember my very first class of Economics. One of the first statements the teacher made was this: “humans have UNLIMITED and UNQUENCHABLE wants and desires”. He went on to say that it's this quality that drives our economies. I believe this unquenchable desire is because God has designed you and I for, and with, an eternal purpose. This verse in Ecclesiastes says that He's wired our hearts up to it. The problem is, most of us dont know how to satisy it. We go around trying to fill it with stuff that is temporal and limited…trying to satiate the everlasting with the “never lasting”. Filling our lives with stuff that always leaves us ‘wanting more'. Jesus shows us how to satisfy this eternal appetite within us in John 4:14 “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” Now ‘stuff' isn't bad. God is not opposed to you having a nice house, driving a nice car and wearing nice clothing…but it's when you find your identity and security from that ‘stuff' over trusting in God that things go awry! It's like leaning on a deck of cards and expecting it to hold you up! God knows you'll fall and that's not His plan for you. Start today by running to God for your security…not your stuff! I promise you He won't let you down. Many blessings friends ???? ?
