For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments… 2 Cor 10:4 (NKJV)
Go to PART 1
This scripture would have to be one of the most quoted verses of my childhood. We spent a lot of time ‘casting down arguments’ and ‘pulling down strongholds.' We prayed, fasted, spoke in tongues, rebuked the devil, repented… But the more I rebuked, prayed all night and repented relentlessly, the more I felt like I was going nowhere fast. None of it dulled the ache in my heart or the shouting in my spirit of my own sense of self-loathing.
How's that for honesty? Haha…
Like we talked about yesterday – prayer, fasting and repenting help us hone our skills, but they are not the weapons we fight with.
It’s funny how sometimes those of us who've been rescued find ourselves yelling at those still drowning. Standing on the shore, the white sand of grace holding us up. The sun smiling down on us, restoring our souls and warming our hearts. We look out to the ocean and can see others still out there in need of rescue, being pulled under by the strongholds. But instead of throwing them a lifeline, we call out to them “Live better, work harder, say sorry, change your lifestyle, stop sinning…” Instead of helping them, it just adds to the noise.
Our weapons against the flood and tide of sin, fear and hopelessness are not carnal. They are mighty in God. They are divine, other worldly. But yet, somehow they here in this world through Christ, you and I. Our stories. 1 Cor 13:13 says,
“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
Not a wishy-washy, whimsical, hopeless butterfly love. But gutsy, life-changing love.
Love that sacrifices.
Love that is truth.
Love that never fails.
Our ‘weapons' against the wave of sin that seeks to drown our world are these three things. They do not rust in the wet. They don’t falter in the cold. They cannot be burned by fire, extinguished by hate, or grow weak with age… they remain, they stand the test of time.
They cut through the noise.
Faith tears down the walls of pride, hope unlocks strongholds of fear and love as fierce as Christ’s cannot be argued away.
The battle to be won starts within you.

Thank you lizzy. So spot on and from the soul. Sittig where I’m at right now circumstantially, physically, mentally but not entirely spiritually, your words are powerful and are speaking to me loudly. It’s not about the circumstance or the loud self loathing noise it’s about standing up and swimming for that lifeline with all I need with Him.
Thanks again. God bless.
