Don't Give Up

“but they couldn’t reach him because of the crowd. So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus.” Luke 5:19

How far do you go before you give up? What price will you pay to reach the outcome you're dreaming of and praying for? Would you face humiliation? How about some lack of sleep?

What's sad about today's day and age is that it's so easy and convenient to become mediocre. To be complacent and settle for less than God has intended for us to have.

So excusable to give up. Air conditioning, smart phones, remote controls, electronic program guides, Sat-Nav all make our lives easier but do they make our determination weaker?

This account in Luke 5 is so inspiring because it gives us great insight into these men's lives. It shows us their determination to get the healing for a friend. They weren't even seeking it for themselves personally!

When God sparks something in your life, sometimes it's our responsibility to fan it into flames until the fire roars. When a dream or desire is seeded deep within our heart, it's our responsibility to “never give up” until its fruit appear on the branches. Don't allow the comfort of this world to prevent you from reaching forth and laying hold of the promises of the next one.

Today, ask yourself what walls you have to scale and what roofs you have to remove… It may mean some discomfort – some genuine blood, sweat and tears – but it'll be worth every drop when you're standing on the roof-top! We know you can do it but are even more confident in our God who has called you to it and strengthens you! Grab hold of this day and seize the best from it, in Jesus Name.
