Hello wonderful friends…One of my fav verses is Ps 37:4 – ‘Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” – It's tempting to think, when you first read this, that “if I just love God He'll give me all the things I want”. It starts off, in our mindsets, about us. About me. What ACTUALLY happens, when you live out this verse is that instead of God giving you what you want, you end up with what you NEED. God has created you for a purpose and a destiny and by ‘delighting yourself in Him' you essentially give Him the opportunity to shape you into the person, the creation, He intended you for. Beautiful, purposeful and destiny-filled. As you ‘delight in Him' you give Him access to shape and change your attitudes and what transpires is His purpose becomes your passion. You see people and situations with the eyes of God. Eyes of compassion. A heart of mercy. Your heart is changed and you desire becomes to fulfil the need. To be the hands and feet of God. Delighting yourself in God usually means that your heart desires get changed and then they get fulfilled! CHALLENGE: Send the first person you think of, an encouraging SMS.
