Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2Corinthians 10:5 NKJV)

Those who don't take their thoughts captive end up captive to their thoughts! It's like this, either you're gonna be a thermometer and respond to the temperature of your thoughts, or you're gonna be a thermostat and set the temperature of your thoughts. Some of you will allow thoughts, totally not from God, come on into your brain and run around, tip stuff over, stain the carpet, break your dishes and precious items and leave you to clean up the mess. If this happenned in your house, you'd get tough with the perpetrator…you'd hold them to account and expect some recompense. Thoughts like “I'll never succeed”, “I'm not good enough”, “I don't deserve that blessing”, “I'm fat”, “I'm ugly”, “I'll never get well” and “bad stuff always happens to me” are not captive thoughts. We've all thought them, so it's ok, you're not alone…but the trick is to start minimising the frequency those thoughts come bowling through your mind. Like the intruder who'd destroy your house, if it happened often, you'd start to get wise to it,  and head them off at the pass. At times it can feel like a big task, taking thoughts captive, but they have to come into obedience to Christ and that being said, means that He will be your strength when you can't summon it. Choose to be the captor today and not allow your thoughts to capture and hold you ransom. Remember “as a man thinks…so is he”. Think “God” thoughts and expel the rest…Bless you!
