Born For Such A Time As This – Sunday Challenge
Mordecai sent Esther a message at a critical moment; it said:
“Don’t think that just because you live in the king’s house you’re the one Jew who will get out of this alive. If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.” (Es 4:12-14 MSG.)

What were you passionate about five years ago?
And how did it change the way you loved/worked/believed?
Has that passion changed today?
I think it's interesting to go back and remember the things that got you good and mad, or made your blood zing and your heart sing, and map out how those passions have changed, transformed, matured, or have gone cold, over the years.
In my experience, we’re never born for just one thing. In specific moments, it may seem like it. But across our lives, we’ll have many “this is why I am here!” moments. They may be about a certain issue or a relationship or a surprise-left-turn-kind-of thing.
The challenge is to move where your life takes you. Perhaps these passions and activities last for a season or a lifetime. Listen to your life. Listen to the Spirit.
And don’t stress out too much. If you feel like you’ve missed the boat, or you’ve put your passions on the back burner, or you didn’t raise your voice when you could have, the opportunity will knock again. It always does.
Because the message of Mordecai “perhaps you were born for such a time as this” doesn’t have a use by date.
