So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)
We are children of the most High God. Created and designed with hope and purpose. It’s for those very reasons that our confidence is attacked so violently by the enemy. When we are not confident and unsure of ourselves, thinking we are hopeless and have little or no value, there is not much of a chance that we would take ourselves into the presence of someone great. A lack of confidence and poor self esteem drives you inward and isolated. But we can be confident in our God…
1) Your confidence is in Christ. Gal 2:20 says “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. Your self worth is set by your Saviour, who lives in you, lifts you up and is in fact your life and strength. You don't have to depend upon yourself for greatness, but look to Jesus who has redeemed, called and chosen you.
2) You were created on purpose for purpose. Jer 1:5 “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart”. Don't let a lack of confidence keep you benched in life – shake it off and stand knowing that you are here for such a time as this.
3) Lift your head, get up and get on with life. Is 60:1 “Arise from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you! Shine be radiant with the glory of the Lord, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you” At some point, we just have to start getting up, brushing ourselves off, and rising in the light and glory of God. Your light and hope has come and is here – His name is Jesus.
And you can always, ever, at any moment and any time, in any state or form, walk boldly, not arrogantly or shamefully, into His presence knowing that it is right there that you belong. Be bold enough to believe it…
