Deut 28 is a beautiful chapter of the promise of blessing. Blessings for obedience. Sometimes I think obedience has been written off as a weakness, or can be seen as someone who has no independent thought, originality or iniative. But it's actually the opposite. Living in obedience to the word of God is not a weakness or a zombie like way of living where we go through the motions and pay homage to our God who won't let us go anywhere or do anything… Obedience is a courageous, powerful, purposeful way to live. Aligning our heart and actions with the word of God puts our lives in the best possible position to be blessed and fulfill the purpose he has for each of us. The amazing thing about God is that His mighty Grace surrounds us, enabling and empowering us to live a Kingdom life, and when we fall short – Jesus makes all the difference. V6 says “you will be blessed when come in, blessed when you go out”… When you live in obedience, when you submit your heart and life to the freedom of Kingdom living, blessing follows you… it's calt help itself but be with you everywhere you go.
