Bless the Lord

Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! (Psalms 103:1 NKJV)

I have no doubt that if you're reading this, you love God and are committed to Him the best way you know how. This Psalmist was pledging his total allegiance, total devotion and and complete commitment to God in this first verse. He is effectively saying “My life, every breath, every conversation, every thought, every prayer, every moment, every day, everything that I am will be a blessing to you”. Sundays (or whatever day you choose worship) are the easiest day to ‘feel' committed to God but the challenge is to let that spill over into every other day and moment. Let His Spirit permeate your interactions with your spouse, your parents, your colleagues and fellow students. Let His voice direct your steps and choices from which checkout, at the shops, to go through, to which house you should buy. Psalm 119 says “You word is a lamp unto my feet…” meaning that the best way to know the next step and live in God's will, is to know His word. Start each day fuelled up on His Word and let it sink deep into your heart. Let today, and every day forward be directed by Him…your best days, in Him, lie ahead!
