2 Tim 1:9 “(God) who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began”
God has been gently reminding me of late that my ‘works' are in response to His Grace, not the reason for receiving it. What we do matters. We build a life with our thoughts, our beliefs and our actions. What we do determines where we go and where we end up. It's true. BUT – and this is a big but – our actions, works, never determine Gods love for us and His willingness to take us beyond what we have done today and into his purposes and plans for our lives. There is no action too good or too horrific to keep you from the embrace of heaven through repentance. You are not saved because of how awesome you are… You are not rejected because of how bad you are… (you are never rejected by Jesus)… You are accepted, loved, chosen, called, forgiven, redeemed, beautiful, made whole, righteous and so much more, simply because of His grace and purpose. The sooner you grasp this, the sooner you can be free from the prison of performance driven, rejection riddled living. You are loved because you are. Now let your actions, your works, what you do with your life be in response to and empowered by His Grace and purpose for your life.
