So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. Deut 31:6 (NLT)
“Be” Series – Part 6 Be Strong
We love and celebrate physical strength in our society. Take-up of gym memberships and health clubs are at record highs and people are thronging to them in their droves, sacrificing lunch times, dinner times, and even family time to improve their health and strengthen their bodies. The truth is that it's all in vain as one day those bodies will become dust. I'm not slamming exercise nor the pursuit of a healthy living but I am suggesting that there's a greater strength we can chase after. It's finding our strength in the living God. It's losing our weakness in Him also. The kind of strength God gives us goes beyond our measurable years… it echoes into the generations to come and lives on in the power and strength of eternity.
The kind of strength found in Jesus fortifies each area of our lives also. Mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Being strong, in God's eyes, is not showing off and displaying your natural power but resting in and relying on His super-natural strength in the good, the bad and the indifferent seasons of your life. Paul says in 2 Cor 12 “It's in my weakness he is made strong…” Today, don't get caught up in being strong on your own… it comes with ultimate limits and vulnerabilities but BE STRONG in God. Allow your strength to come from Him and then glorify Him in it. It's what you were made to do… knock it out of the park today in Jesus name! Love…
