Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan… (Eph 6:19)

“Be” Series – Part 3 – Be Bold

Jesus' great commission, is to “go into the world, making disciples of all nations…” Now it's not a heavy “have-to” thing but it's a “this-is-what-should-flow-from-your-heart-if-you-love-Me” thing. Every time I share my faith, I get a lump in my throat and my adrenaline starts pumping and I get all shaky. It's like this fear comes over me. But whenever fear speaks to us we have to BE BOLD! Fear is a voice to stop you from doing what God has called you to do. The only antidote is to do the opposite of what it tells you.

Recently a door-to-door salesman came to our house. While he was talking I felt the Holy Spirit whisper to me. I had this argument back and forth with the Holy Spirit in my head, all while the salesman was still talking. The Spirit won me over and I decided to just BE BOLD. Before He left I asked him if I could pray for him. He agreed and so I prayed the clunkiest, most awkward prayer. He left and it seemed like that was it. At the end of the day I heard a knock at the door and it was the salesman again. He said it was hot outside and he'd really like a drink. Right then I knew he wanted to talk so I got him a drink and we talked about God and Jesus for the next 30 minutes. It turns out he'd woken up recently to the vision of an angel hovering over his bed. He wasn't religious and both his parents were atheists. He wanted to know more about God but just didn't know where to start and the prayer I clunkily prayed for him, opened up that opportunity. If I hadn't have been bold and instead listened to the fear, this opportunity would've been missed. Today, BE BOLD. Listen to the Spirit and fight against the voice of fear. Share you faith in an open and transparent way. You don't need all the answers… it's ok to say “I don't know” but be generous with your time, patience and grace. The gospel will become irresistible if you do this! Love you guys… BE BOLD!
