“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 NLT)
Ever seen those movies where someone walks up, with apprehension, to a front door? They do a very tentative knock and then quickly turn and walk away from the door, as if to avoid the opener. Sometimes we approach God with the same manner. We know we should knock, and so we do, but with restraint and apprehension in our posture. Do we deserve what we're knocking for? Will I be disturbing God from His important business? Aren't there others who deserve His attention more than me? These thoughts have no foundation in who God says we are. We are His children and have free access to His place. “Come boldly into the throne room of God…” Hebrews 4 says. I often walk straight inside when I visit my parents. I even help myself to whatever's in the fridge! I know that my position as a son entitles me to free access. When it comes to your asking, seeking and knocking, don't hold back. Don't be tentative or afraid but know your position in the family! Note with all three of these actions, that persistence is the key. The enemy's most effective strategy is discouragement but the hallmark of every successful Christ-follower is ‘never giving up'. Today, determine to put a stake in the ground, that no matter how scared, tired, offended, hurt, or beat down you get, you will never give up asking, seeking or knocking and you'll always hold onto Jesus. You guys are the best…we feel so privileged that you'd let us into your lives! God bless…
