Psalm 103:1 “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!”
Somedays it's easy to praise God, other days its like you have to bring your whole self kicking and screaming to a position of praise. But to have your heart and soul, your mind and actions, in a position of blessing and praising God is what we were created to do. There are three things I want to pull out of this for you…
1. ‘All' – all of you matters… The good and bad, the beautiful and ugly, the saint and sinner – He knows it all, He sees it all, so trust ALL of you to Him. Don't hide bits of yourself away.
2. ‘Within' – I once heard an awesome preacher say “we are a generation that adores public praise, and ignores private devotion”. It's so easy to focus on the ‘outward' appearance… But God wants more than that from us, He wants what's within…
3. ‘Bless' – you are actually a blessing to God. Not an inconvenience, not trouble or an annoyance… but a blessing and a delight. He loves you – the real you… And is so blessed by you when you turn your whole self to Him.
Today, no matter how you feel, bring everything you are – all that is within you, and bless and praise Him for a being a God who loves, includes, sees, hears, believes, and empowers your everything.
